This month’s
membership meeting is Monday, July 21 at 12:00 at the Elks Lodge. Our
program is by Millie Callaway, specialist with the Business Enterprise
Resource Office (BERO). BERO is part of the Tennessee Department of
Economic and Community Development. BERO provides financial, procurement
and development opportunities for entrepreneurs and small-, minority-,
and women-owned businesses in Tennessee. Millie, a native of Cleveland,
will be providing information on ways this program can help local businesses.
Another great downtown event
is coming up! Plans are underway for the Elks-Mainstreet
Harvest Festival on Saturday, July 26 from 3 to 9 pm.
This summer celebration includes a farmers market with fresh local produce
for sale plus an afternoon of live entertainment, BBQ, homemade ice cream,
arts and crafts vendors, activities for the kids, and more. The Harvest
Festival will be held on the east lawn of the Elk’s Lodge. It coincides
with the July Cruise In featuring hundreds of great cars and the bluegrass
group Drivetrain out of Atlanta. Don’t miss this afternoon of fun,
food, and entertainment downtown.
Also, coming up is the 8th annual White Oak Mountain Bluegrass Festival
at Tri State Exhibition Center. Enjoy entertainment throughout the day
on Saturday, July 19 and Sunday, July 20. For complete entertainment
line-up and ticket information, visit www.whiteoakbluegrass.com.
